I recently penned an essay on “Stickin’ It To The Man” (https://rickey125.substack.com/p/stickin-it-to-the-man) to explain a little why certain voters choose to vote for people whose words say one thing and actions are just the opposite. They.Just.Don’t.Care.
As I watch the media explain and expose the obvious concerns and problems of the now seated administration, supporters just shrug (think Atlas Shrugged). As if the actions of this administration will not affect them.
Mass deportation is just fine “Get them out!”, but the cost of your produce and meat will increase “That’s okay, get them out!”. This will affect some of your friends and neighbors, maybe even your own spouse, “Get them out!”. TJDC This is some old-style Soviet Bolshevik or Gestapo actions taken by this administration. TJDC
Tariffs will increase your costs of many of the things you buy like computers and appliances as Jamie Dimon (CEO of Chase Bank) warned prior to the election but now “They will increase the cost, temporarily, but if it is in the interest of national security, then the short-term suffering in necessary.” This coming from a man with loads of money and those tariffs will not affect him. The republicans in Congress all know this is an issue and it is important to have targeted tariffs, but as this administration seeks to implement Project 2025, the pain of tariffs will be felt most by, not them, but the very people that voted for them. Do they care that the effects will be borne by the lowest levels of the economic class? TJDC. The new POTUS keeps lying about who will pay these extra costs and talks about how the tariffs worked in the McKinley administration not even admitting that McKinley’s policies lead to higher costs, loss of jobs, and economic hardships. The republican President Hoover then tried the policies once again in the 1930s and history shows that lead to the Great Republican Depression. Will that stop them from allowing these policies to be implemented? TJDC.
Federal disaster relief is another area that TJDC comes into play. In his previous time in office, the newly installed POTUS refused to provide aid to American citizens in need. Why? Evidently, here is the reason: “It’s too hard.” When he was asked by his co-conspirator, Sean Hannity he said he wanted the states to be responsible for these problems. He did the same during the COVID pandemic while allowing his “advisor” and son-in-law to hoard federal supplies needed by the states claiming “They are ours” which Jared then allowed his college buddy to take and “dispose” for profit to his personal wealth. What did the republicans do? TJDC
Federal health agencies are getting stuffed in the bucket should be something that all the leaders are concerned about, but for the republicans and their voters – TJDC. The anti-science crusade now rules the roost. And it will be devastating to the all the lower economic class and to their own voters, but TJDC. We found out during COVID that the “Stickin’ It To The Man” anti-government crowd came out in full force. Did they care that their assault on the policies would lead to more suffering and death? At first, yes, then the leadership in power found out that the pandemic was affecting minorities most and suddenly, their personal freedom was more important than even their own health or the health of their immune compromised family and friends and their elderly relatives. The leadership made the promise we could protect the most vulnerable (how?) and allow everyone else to freely go about their lives (spreading the illness). Noe of that happened and guess what? TJDC
Our military gets held up with pride when the CONservative crew holds power, but they spend all the time degrading the services when not in power. No matter how successful a military action, they find fault. The military has led the way on integration and diversification under both Republican and Democratic administrations, but now since we have moved “beyond” racism and discrimination according to this crowd, we no longer need to be sensitive to these issues. Even though facts show the opposite, they just say we can move beyond these issues. They did this during COVID as well (don’t test and we won’t have more cases), to the tune of well over 1,000,000 dead Americans. TJDC
Then when it comes to climate science, reproductive healthcare, law and order, government spending, worker safety, food safety, if the federal government has involvement in setting regulations, TJDC; the federal government has no place in directing the regulations that can help the average citizens by providing the expertise information for “free”. Project 2025 seeks to end the government agencies as we know them which will send Americans into a worse than now information desert. The current administration seeks to control ALL information from various agencies to make sure the leader’s narrative is promoted. Ask the supporters – it’s okay, because TJDC.
The TJDC crowd never admits that government works – never, even when they are in charge. When a disaster happens while they are in power, the government response is always inadequate. When they are in power, the ineptness of the government officials is the reason the response is so poor. As Russel Vought stated in 2023 “We want the bureaucrats to be traumatically affected, when they wake up in the morning, we want them to not want to go to work because they are increasingly viewed as the villains.” (https://www.nytimes.com/2025/02/03/us/politics/musk-federal-government.html) These people show absolutely no respect for people working in public service because by serving they are not out seeking the most lucrative positions available. TJDC people claim to appreciate first responders and the military, but when it comes to supporting the injured, TJDC. “They knew what they signed up for, too bad. “
J6, 2021 is a perfect example of the TJDC crowd, as they decided that elections no longer mattered if they lost. They pushed to force Congress to throw out the election, first through intimidation at local and state levels where officials were accused of malfeasance. They pursued audit after audit, but refused to accept fully transparent and accurate results. They supported one federal lawsuit after another where they kept losing, but refused to accept those rulings. The facts did not matter. When the radical right wing nuts started the conspiracy ideas of J6, TJDC crew followed right along. Even an insurrection AGAINST the Constitution no longer mattered.
