Common Sense Theory
Not liking conspiracy theories much as I had to endure the era (it continues) of the Kennedy assassination where the mob, the Cubans, the Russians, our own CIA and even the Vice President were many of the theories of who killed Kennedy. Like many Americans, I also got swept up in the various theories, because it was such an unbelievable event. What changed my mind? The day that I visited the 6th Floor Museum and saw the sniper’s nest.
The day that I looked down from the sniper’s nest and saw the short distance from the nest to the impact of the bullet on Kennedy, the theory just dissipated. The possibility that a man that earned a Marine shooting expert badge could have made that shot erased all the doubt I had harbored all those years. So where is this going?
The 2024 election is something that keeps me wondering about what the hell happened.
tRump ran a campaign that had no design on winning. He declared his candidacy earlier that any candidate ever before and proceeded to just shot off one toe after another. He alienated virtually every minority group in the country. He proposed policies that would crash the economy. He made it obvious he would designate our allies as unfriendly by elevating the dictator friends he made in his first term. And he continued to attack the federal law enforcement for prosecuting him for the insurrection and taking top secret documents while NEVER going to court to clear his name. He lost court case after court case when a jury was impaneled to decide the case. That is why he avoids going to court. And yet, he won? He ran as a man who knew what the results would be in the end. And you have to keep the focus on the republicans who began to embrace him rather quickly following January 6, 2021. Why? What were they told? Were they threatened or was it something more nefarious like there was no way tRump would lose?
There are a number of things to consider, but one thing that is obvious: Elon Musk and his tech crew. I postulate that 2016 was a test case that came into full bloom in 2024 after the people spoke loudly in 2020. Yes, the pandemic allowed election officials to get creative in ways to allow eligible voters to participate that brought in record numbers of participants. This is not in the republicans’ best interest.
Now we have the republican members of Congress acting just the same.
Let's be very, very clear: the republican party is acting like a party that does not fear another election. The republicans have been purging voters from the rolls, and creating more and more obstacles for minorities and poor people to participate in the democratic process. My old home state, Texas is a great example where the majority party became a ruling party and has made the state a virtual black hole of democracy. Ruled by the rich buying the government for themselves. Texas is not the only state where this is happening. Virtually, every GOP lead state is using the “fill in the blank” legislation being provided by the American Legislative Exchange Council to write state level laws. The similarity across state lines in unbelievable.
Even more telling is a party that enacts laws that take away the state level power with legislation that stops local and state officials from policies that would keep corporations and firms from harmful actions. They make laws that shield companies from liability like they did in 2020 during covid so the companies could keep their employees on the job without taking the extra safety measures needed to protect the workers. Now they are indemnifying companies from their damaging environmental practices. This is not a party that fears the voters any longer. Guess what other governments do not fear the voters? Russia, Iran, North Korea, Hungary, Turkey are just a few where they hold “elections.”
The conservatives long ago began building this plan with the John Birch Society and then the plan outlined in the Lewis Powell Memo. They began with the taking over of the state legislatures all the while working to gerrymander the House of Representatives in their favor. The pieces are now in place for their plans outlined in Project 2025. They outsourced a lot of their work to Musk who became their distraction useful tool to take the peoples’ eyes off of what they were doing with personnel inside the executive branch.
One of the tenants of the Project was to replace hundreds, if not thousands of loyal American public servants with sycophants loyal to not tRump (he is the tool), but to the cause of autocracy that Project 2025. Getting tRump back in the Oval was a distraction from the real plan and now with the Congressional majority, a SCOTUS and a corrupt cabinet, the will of the voters becomes irrelevant.
It was once said, that Social Security cuts would be the death nail for any party that would seek to cut benefits or the program. We are here now. Reps and senators will tell you that cuts are not on the agenda, which is a simple lie. If they are planning on cutting things, then they would not vote for budgets that cut programs. Watch what they do, not what they say. If they really want to fix social security – RAISE THE CAP. The GOP will make their wishes come true, in spite of how the majority of their constituents feel. This is the actions of a party that does not fear being voted out.
Circle back to the 2024 election, one cannot help but question how the targeted ads of the tRump planners had on the voters, but even more importantly, the technical experts that muskrat brought in, along with the $100 for signing petitions and a $1,000,000 give away had on the voter participation. There is just TOO much to think about, not the least of which is to believe that so many people voted for a man who was found guilty of fraud and sexual assault in three different court trials. Common sense dictates we should not just accept the 2024 results and work to make sure that we can counter the conservative lie machine in 2026 and beyond.
